Writing Toolbox: Let's get organized with Writing Maps!

Teaching kids to write can be easy if you have the right tools! Getting organized is the first step, and one of the best ways to accomplish this is with an excellent set of writing maps. Writing maps are the foundation for writing success and truly help your children start out focused and on topic. What could be better than that?


At Shurley English, we want to give you a great start to the new year. Right now, you can download our Shurley English writing maps for FREE! Below, you will find a step-by-step process to follow in order to access these writing tools. If you have any issues, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Step 1:

Go to www.shurley.com.

Select the login button.

Step 2:

Login to your Shurley account.

If you don't have a Shurley account, it's no problem. Simply select the REGISTER link.

Your account is free, and your information will remain private.

Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage.

Click the PRINTABLES button.

Step 4:

Select the appropriate grade level and view the printable content.

Step 5:

Scroll through the PDF content. For most levels, you will find multiple pages of resources.

Print the map you wish to use.
